Why shutters start with a survey

A shutter becomes part of the window. The frame, the panel layout, the louvre size and where the panels fold all have to suit the window behind them and the way you use the room. That is why we design shutters in your home rather than from a width and a height sent by email.

During the survey we look at how the window is built, which parts open, where the handles sit and how deep the reveal is. We talk about what you want from the shutters, whether that is street-level privacy, softer light, a darker bedroom or simply a finished look, and then show you the options that genuinely suit the window.

What we consider

You do not need to decide beforehand

If you are not sure whether you need full height, tier-on-tier or café style shutters, that is completely normal. The survey is where we compare the options against the actual window. We will also tell you honestly if a blind or curtains would suit a particular window better than a shutter.

Your quotation

After the survey you receive a quotation that sets out the agreed specification for each window: the style, material, colour, louvre size, panel layout and fitting. It also makes clear what is included and identifies any optional extras separately, so you can compare like for like.

We do not use pressure tactics or “sign today” offers. Take the time you need to decide.
