What we deliver

We act as the window-coverings package for main contractors and fit-out contractors: pricing from your tender documents, confirming measurements on site, supplying and installing to your programme, then snagging and handing over with the information your O&M manual needs. The scope can be blinds only, or blinds, curtains, tracks and motorised systems together.

Tender-stage inputs

The more complete the tender pack, the fewer assumptions we have to make. The most useful documents are:

  • drawings and window schedules, with window references where they exist;
  • room data sheets and the finishes schedule;
  • the specification, performance requirements or bill of quantities;
  • the programme and any phasing;
  • site constraints, access arrangements and required standards;
  • controls information if motorisation is included.

Clarifications before we price

We would rather raise questions early than price around them. Typical clarifications include missing or conflicting dimensions, unclear product or fabric specifications, glazing that is difficult to reach, assumptions about the fixing substrate, who provides power and builder's work, access equipment, phasing, out-of-hours working, waste and disposal, and what O&M information is required. Our quotation sets out assumptions and exclusions clearly so the scope is easy to compare.

Solutions we often propose

Commercial fit-outs commonly use roller blinds with solar-screen, dim-out or blackout fabrics, vertical blinds for wide runs of glazing, Venetian blinds where adjustable slats suit the space, and motorised systems for high-level or grouped windows. FR fabric options are available on selected contract ranges, and certificates are supplied for the specified fabric. Curtain scopes are covered on our commercial curtains and tracks page.

Site delivery

Commercial installations work differently from homes. Depending on the site, we plan for:

  • inductions and the method statements and risk assessments the site requires;
  • site credentials where the project requires them — tell us what is needed at tender stage;
  • access equipment, permits and protected working areas;
  • phased attendance to follow other trades, particularly decoration and ceilings;
  • coordination with electrical contractors where blinds are motorised.

Variations

Changes happen on every project. We keep a formal record of variations — what changed, why, the effect on price and programme, and who approved it — rather than relying on informal email instructions. That protects both sides when the final account is agreed.

What we need from you

At enquiry stage: the tender pack (or as much of it as you have), the return date, the programme and a named contact for clarifications. After award: confirmed drawings at the latest revision, access dates and site rules. Tenders and estimating explains the process in more detail.

Snagging and handover

Each installed item is checked for operation, alignment and safety devices before we hand over. We work through snagging lists promptly and supply the product, care and operating information for the O&M manual. Afterwards, our maintenance and repairs service can look after the building once it is occupied.

Questions we get asked

Can you price from an incomplete tender pack?

Yes. We price what we can from the information supplied and list every assumption and clarification, so the gaps are visible and can be resolved before order.

Do you provide RAMS and attend inductions?

We prepare the method statements and risk assessments a site requires and attend inductions as part of planning the installation. Tell us at tender stage if the site has particular credential requirements.

Who provides power for motorised blinds?

That should be agreed early. Typically the electrical contractor provides power and containment to agreed points, and we supply, install and commission the blinds and controls. We confirm responsibilities in writing for each project.

What do you supply for the O&M manual?

Product details, fabric information, care and cleaning guidance, operating instructions and, where specified, fabric certificates and control information for the items installed.
