Made-to-measure shutters
Shutters become part of the architecture of a room.
Unlike a blind that hangs in front of the window, shutters are designed around the opening itself: the frame, panel layout, louvres, sightlines and the way the window or door needs to open. We provide a measured-and-fitted shutter service across Cambridge and Cambridgeshire.

- Tier-on-tierSeparate upper and lower panels open independently, which is particularly useful where privacy needs change through the day.Explore →
- Café styleShutters cover only the lower part of the window, protecting privacy at eye level while leaving the top open to daylight.Explore →
- Bay windowDesigned around the individual angles and sections of a bay, rather than treating it as one flat opening.Explore →

- TrackedPanels run on a track and fold or slide aside, useful across larger openings and suitable doors. Space for the folded panels still matters.Explore →

- No-drillA slim shutter-style system for compatible uPVC windows and doors, fitted without conventional wall or recess drilling. Compatibility is confirmed at survey.Explore →

Privacy and daylight
Louvred shutters are useful because the panels do not have to be fully opened to change the room. Depending on the configuration, you can tilt the louvres, open individual panels or, with tier-on-tier, operate the upper and lower sections separately.
Are shutters blackout?
No conventional louvred shutter should be sold as a total-blackout solution. Closed shutters can substantially reduce incoming light, but light can remain around the louvres, panels and frame. Where bedroom darkness matters, we compare a Shutter & Shade configuration, curtains layered with shutters, or a specialist blackout blind.
Materials
Shutters are made in different materials, including timber, engineered or composite materials and moisture-resistant ranges for bathrooms and kitchens. We show you the options that suit each room at the survey rather than calling every shutter wood.
Lead times
Express Hampton shutters are available from 7 working days on eligible specifications. Lead times for other shutters vary by range and specification, and we confirm them with your quotation.
Start with the window
A shutter is a designed configuration: panel layout, louvre size, split and midrail positions, frame and fixing method, colour and how the window opens. The survey establishes the right configuration around your actual window rather than forcing a preselected style.
