What we deliver
We help architects, interior designers and specifiers turn design intent into a window-shading package that can be priced, built and maintained. That might be a quick sense-check of a proposed blind type, or detailed support through schedules, samples and technical submittals.
How we can support a specification
- Product and system selection for each window type
- Fabric and sample review, including colour and openness choices
- Solar and optical data for specific fabrics, where the manufacturer publishes it
- Dim-out and blackout options, and what each can realistically achieve
- Motor and control strategy, including zoning and power requirements
- Recess, pocket and track requirements for concealed installations
- Fixing coordination with ceilings, heads and window frames
- Drawing review and window schedules
- Value engineering, with any alternative reviewed against the specification
Technical information
We provide the documentation that genuinely exists for the products proposed: product datasheets, fabric certificates for the specified fabric, solar and optical data, fabric cards, control and wiring information, fixing details and care information. Where a manufacturer publishes CAD or BIM files or sustainability data for a system, we can pass those on. We do not create performance declarations or objects that do not exist, and we will tell you plainly when the information you need is not available for a particular product.
FR fabric options are available on selected contract ranges, and certificates are supplied for the specified fabric. Performance values are always tied to the exact fabric and colour, not assumed across a collection.
Where early coordination matters most
Some details are hard to change once ceilings and window heads are built. Early review is particularly valuable for:
- recessed tracks and ceiling pockets for concealed blinds;
- power and control routes for motorised systems;
- very large glazing, where blind size and fabric weight affect system choice — see large window blinds;
- rooflights and roof lanterns;
- gables and shaped windows;
- external shading, which needs to be considered alongside the façade design.
Solutions we often discuss
Concealed or cassette roller blinds are a frequent starting point, with screen, dim-out or blackout fabrics depending on room use. Pleated and cellular blinds suit shaped and angled glazing. Wave curtains on ceiling-recessed tracks give a clean, architectural line, and commercial curtains and tracks covers contract requirements in more detail.
What we need from you
- Plans, elevations and sections showing window heads and ceiling details
- The design intent — appearance, light levels and control
- Any performance targets in the specification
- Project stage and when decisions need to be fixed
Submittals and handover
Once a package is awarded, we prepare submittals — product, fabric, controls and fixing details — for review and approval, and record comments and revisions so the approved version is always clear. At handover the approved information forms the basis of the O&M content.
