A village with fresh design guidance

The Witcham Neighbourhood Plan was formally made in February 2026 and comes with its own Design Guidance and Codes, adding to the village's existing conservation area.

Those documents are about buildings and development, not curtains. We don't read them as saying anything about your windows specifically. But they do reflect a village where people pay attention to how things look, and that matches how we like to work: individually and carefully.

Sympathetic, not fussy

In character homes, the best treatments are often the simplest. A well-made Roman blind, a pair of pinch pleat curtains on a painted pole, or café-style shutters on the lower panes can suit a traditional room without dominating it. The solutions hub shows the full range.

Sizes that aren't standard

Where openings vary, ready-made blinds rarely fit well. Everything we supply is made to measurements we take ourselves, including the smaller or unusually proportioned windows that turn up in older homes.

Light and warmth

Cellular blinds are slim enough for shallow reveals and add an insulating air layer. For bedrooms, blackout curtains or linings can be added to most curtain styles.

Doing one room first

If you're not ready to commit to every window, start with one room. It's a good way to see how a fabric or finish looks in your home through the day and across the seasons. We'll note what you chose, so later rooms can match or complement it. There's no pressure to decide on everything at the survey; we'll leave you a written recommendation to think about.

If you do start small, a bedroom or the main living room usually tells you the most, as they're the rooms where light, privacy and comfort matter most day to day. You'll quickly get a feel for the fabric, the fitting and how the blind operates, which makes later decisions easier.

Questions we get asked

My window recess is very shallow. What fits?

Slim systems such as pleated or cellular blinds often fit shallow reveals. Otherwise a face fit may be better. We'll check at survey.

Can I add blackout lining to curtains?

Blackout linings can be added to most curtain styles we make.
