Blinds, Shutters & Curtains in Witchford
Witchford, just west of Ely, adopted its modified neighbourhood plan in March 2025 and has seen residential growth. We measure, supply and fit window coverings for homes across the village.

East Cambridgeshire formally adopted the modified Witchford Neighbourhood Plan in March 2025, supported by a landscape appraisal. The village sits just west of Ely and has a residential growth context, so our surveys here often include newer homes as well as established ones.
New home checklist
If you've moved into a newer Witchford home, this checklist can save a second visit:
- Note which windows tilt or open inward; these may need frame-fitted blinds.
- Check the space above each window for a headrail, especially if curtains are planned too.
- Decide whether any rooms need darkness during the day.
- Think about garden doors: French door, patio or bifold options differ.
- Consider whether motorisation is worth planning in, on selected systems.
Established homes
For older properties, we look at reveal depth and squareness before recommending inside-recess fitting. Soft treatments such as Roman blinds and wave curtains can be made to suit most rooms.
What we won't do
We won't push a product that isn't right for the window. If a blind type is unlikely to work, perhaps because of moisture, frame compatibility or how a door opens, we'll say so and suggest an alternative.
Surveys and the showroom
Use our free home survey form with your postcode to arrange a visit in Witchford. Our showroom is in Soham, south-east of Ely, and is open weekdays with an early close on Fridays.
Consistency from outside
On newer streets, the front of the house is on show. Choosing similar colours, or at least similar linings, for the street-facing windows keeps the outside tidy, even if the rooms inside are quite different. Some fabrics have a neutral backing for exactly this reason. We can suggest combinations that work from both sides, so you're free to use colour indoors without the front of the house looking mismatched. It's a small detail, but it makes a difference to how a finished home looks.
The same applies to headrail and bracket colours. White fittings on white frames tend to disappear, while darker fittings can look deliberate in a contemporary room. We'll show you the options at survey.
