Blinds, Shutters & Curtains in Stretham
Stretham, between Ely and Cambridge, is a historic village with its own conservation area and appraisal. We supply and fit blinds, shutters and curtains here after measuring every window.

Stretham has a conservation area and an official appraisal. Planning evidence also describes the existing settlement sitting on more pronounced slopes, with small-scale pasture at its edges. It is its own village, not simply an outpost of Ely, and we treat it that way.
Being just across the fen from our Soham base, Stretham is one of the closer villages to our showroom.
Common requests
"We want the room to feel cosy"
Soft furnishings help. Thermal interlined curtains add weight and a fuller look, and a Roman blind beneath a pelmet or pole creates a layered effect.
"We need a darker bedroom"
Blackout blinds block light through the fabric, though a little may still edge round the sides. Perfect Fit blackout on compatible frames sits closer to the glass.
"The kitchen window needs something practical"
Look for wipeable, moisture-suitable materials; faux wood and some roller fabrics are common choices, depending on the specific product.
"We don't want cords"
Cordless and motorised options are available on selected ranges. All internal blinds we fit meet UK child-safety requirements.

Sloping sites and awkward views
On a sloping site, some windows can look straight into neighbours' gardens or be overlooked from higher ground. If you're dealing with that, think about which part of the window needs covering. Café-style or tier-on-tier shutters cover the lower section only. A top-down pleated blind does the same in fabric. A sheer layer can soften the view without blocking daylight. We'll look at the sightlines from inside the room before suggesting anything.
Remember that at night, with lights on inside, the view reverses: sheers and light-filtering fabrics show more from outside after dark. For evenings, an opaque layer is worth having in rooms that are overlooked, whether that's a lined curtain, a blind or closed shutter louvres.
